SEPTEMBER IN REVIEW
Howdy everyone, I hope you have all been doing well.
On the day this newsletter is sent out, it will be September 30th, also known as the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada, where we honour the children and survivors of Canada’s residential school system. I encourage everyone to commit to learning more about Canada’s history. For more information, please click here.
Although September is coming to a close, we’ve just begun the beautiful fall season here in Halton Region. Thanks to the unpredictable weather lately, we’ve seen the trees donning their colours a little earlier this year.
We also saw ‘Draw the Line’ events occurring across Canada on September 20th, with Halton Hills also taking part and standing up to government policies and legislation like Bill 5 and Bill C-5.
October, however, is going to the birds in Halton Hills, as this month wraps up the voting for the Halton Hills Town Bird. Check out this article for more information.
A personal note, and looking to the future
To those of you who subscribed early on, when this was primarily a photography-focused platform, I thank you for your continued support. I also extend my apologies for the lack of photography-focused content over the last few months.
Moving forward, I will do my best to incorporate more photography-focused content into the Field and Shutter Press. My goal is to blend photography with storytelling, creating a blend that's like National Geographic meets local journalism.
Additionally, to help achieve that goal. I’m planning an interview series with various Ontario nature photographers to both inspire and showcase the beautiful province I call home. If you’re a nature or wildlife photographer from Ontario and are interested in participating, please reach out!
Until next month,
-Greg
