Partnerships, Policies & Probes: August 2025
A new partnership expands our reporting on environmental issues, with updates on a federal investigation and the future of three provincial parks.
AUGUST IN REVIEW
Howdy everyone,
It’s hard to believe we're already at the end of August, but before we head into fall, I wanted to share a few important updates on what's ahead for The Field & Shutter Press.
Growing Our Coverage
I’m excited to announce this month that The Field & Shutter Press is participating in the Local Journalism Initiative (LJI). This allows us to expand our coverage of local environmental stories from across the Halton Region. The goal of the LJI is to help fill gaps in our reporting and introduce topics that we intend to investigate further in the future.
Don’t worry, we aren’t about to stop our own independent reporting. We still plan on bringing you in-depth reporting of our own!
"Draw The Line" Event
Looking ahead to September, I want to let you know we will be covering "Draw The Line," a national day of climate, Indigenous, and environmental action. Halton Hills Climate Action has planned an event at St. George's Church Hall in Georgetown on September 20th, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The Field & Shutter Press will be there to report on the event!
A Personal Update
On a more personal note, my time in the field has been severely limited lately due to some ongoing health issues. Not being behind a camera has had its own challenges, but I’m hoping to get back behind the lens soon. While I may not be able to head into the field, I remain committed to bringing you the stories that I can.
Until the next one,
-Greg Noakes
